Bio

I’ve worn many hats in my life. From waitressing, modelling,  TV broadcasting and as an award-winning landscape designer and journalist. Unsurprisingly, plants, gardens and landscapes of all kinds make me happy, and in addition to writing my own books, I’ve ghosted a number of books for some very lovely individuals. An avid reader, I enjoy nothing more than escaping with a good book, swimming and walking. Having recently completed two novels which I’m currently editing, one set in the  bloody trenches of WW1, the other a love story-cum- thriller steeped in sex, lies and deceit at the Royal court in Tudor England.

Lucy Summers nature writer and historical novels

A chance opportunity led me to present Ch. 4’s Countdown, going on to front numerous DIY and gardening programmes for BBC and ITV. A spurious approach to literary agent, Darley Anderson launched my career as a writer. Still one of the most exemplary human beings I’ve ever met, he rekindled my love of writing (whilst teaching me a thing or two about deadlines!) meaning I’m lucky enough to do what I love. Through my website I hope to share the joys and pitfalls of writing, nature and life’s happier surprises. From time to time, I hope you’ll join me on those adventures.
